Governments increasingly treat space as an operational domain. Communications, navigation and intelligence all depend on assets in orbit, and the UK's national and defence space strategies place growing emphasis on sovereign capability.
Small satellites have changed the economics
Standardised small spacecraft, shared launches and modular design allow capability to be developed and replenished faster and at lower cost than traditional large satellites.
Secure communications face a new threat
Quantum computing is expected to challenge the encryption that protects today's networks. Quantum-secure communication from space is one of the emerging responses, and is at the centre of our work.

Infinity Ground Station in Maesteg, Wales combines multi-band radio with an experimental quantum optical capability, keeping the link between orbit and operator under UK control.

Prove the core technologies in orbit, from quantum optics on DragonSat to onboard AI on SerenSat-AI, generating flight data that retires technical risk early.

Move validated technology into mission capability, including quantum key distribution through Phoenix QuantumSat and persistent surveillance through the ATLAS swarm.
